My friend and fellow journalist Biko and I had some reporting to do, so we met in town in front of the National Archives. I arrived on American time. Biko came on Kenyan time. (Click to see Biko’s website)
We hopped in a bus and waited for it to leave.
While we waited, we took a bunch of selfies.
We got off the bus and walked toward our meeting point.
Along the way we got some bananas. It was occasion for another selfie.
We did an interview with a Somali journalist in exile, then posed for a gazillion photos.
We grabbed some chips and bhajia for lunch.
Then we walked to Mukuru Kayaba for our next story.
After the interviews, we walked around to get b-roll for our story. These kids came too.
The things we do in the name of journalism.
This random guy had his picture made with me.
Then there were more pictures, and these boys went a little camera crazy.
After we wrapped up, we found a bar.
Then we took a matatu back to town.
